Think The Devil Wears Prada and Into the Woods, but with the fancy and whimsy of Mary Poppins. And, for that matter, go back and view the classic Disney Mary Poppins. Then, imagine the possibilities — with Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt as part of the mix.
David Magee’s screenplay is based on the Mary Poppins stories of P.L. Travers, according to Variety. Marc Shaiman is the composer and song-writer, with Scott Wittman.
If the Mary Poppins sequel moves forward, it will hit theaters in December 2018 — which sounds like a fun way to ring in the holidays (and the new year)!
Anything could happen (and probably will), but I’d love to see the far-flung flying nanny hit the big screen again. What about you?
