Life Lessons on Regret

Everything changes, but sometimes all we can do is move forward, keep taking the next step forward, live boldly.

Ted Hughes once wrote, “The only calibration that counts is how much heart people invest, how much they ignore their fears of being hurt or caught out or humiliated. And the only thing people regret is that they didn’t live boldly enough, that they didn’t invest enough heart, didn’t love enough. Nothing else really counts at all.”

It’s one thing to regret, to feel that we haven’t lived the life we should have… that we have been cowardly and afraid. It’s quite another to have regrets and then to let our mistakes define our present and future actions.

Steve Maraboli writes: “We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past. But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles, and you are here NOW with the power to shape your day and your future.”
